Its parish contains 497 souls, and 1610 acres of land, separated from Hertfordshire by the Stort, to which it sends a tributary stream.

The Church, (Virgin Mary) a small neat building, with a square tower and shingled spire.

The Rectory, valued in K.B at £15, and in 1831 at £430, is in the patronage of the Governors of Charter House and the incumbency of the Rev.C.R.Pritchett, M.A., who has a good living and 27A of glebe.
